Root canal treatment is necessary when the tooth’s root is
damaged or when the tooth is affected by caries, including Pulp.
In such cases, the root becomes infected or inflamed. Special drills are used to remove infected and inflamed Pulp from the root canals.
Then, with the help of these, a channel is created to apply the filling
material. Washing is also done to clean the channels and remove
residual dirt. The channels are sealed with a particular material that is
resistant to various effects. A material commonly known as “güta
perka” is used for this purpose. That protects the root canals from
infection and contamination. A temporary filling is applied to gütaperka
to close the hole. Such a filler remains until a permanent
filler is used or a crown is worn. In this way, dental canal
treatment is performed successfully.
